Why Should You Have Your Carpets Cleaned?

A good, professional clean will not only make your carpets look considerably better but also make them last much longer. 

In some cases, it is possible to clean and leave you with a carpet as new and fresh as the day it was laid. What’s more, clean carpets are healthier for you and your family than hard floors. They act as filters, trapping dirt, pollen, dust, and other allergens, improving the air quality in your home. Regular cleaning and maintenance help to remove these potentially damaging materials from your home for good.

Are You Insured?

For the protection of your property, our team will only ever operate with full and comprehensive insurance. This includes public liability, treatment and works risk cover, and loss of customer keys. Evidence of business insurance will be produced upon request for your peace of mind.

How Long Will My Carpets Take to Dry?

Drying time varies depending on the type of carpet you have, what the carpet fibres are made of, and the weather or humidity conditions. For instance, a thick pile carpet could take 12 to 24 hours to dry in cold conditions, whereas a low-profile carpet made from polypropylene could be dry in warm conditions in as little as an hour or two. On average, most carpets we clean take 3 to 4 hours to dry. 

How Long Should We Wait to Walk on the Carpet or Return the Furniture?

Ideally, you should wait until the carpet is 100% dry, so you are advised to leave furniture off the carpet for at least a few hours after it has been cleaned. Shoe protectors are provided for you and your family on request, helping you to protect the clean carpet while it is drying.

If it is not possible to remove the furniture from the room, we will work around it, providing plastic protectors under your furniture too. This prevents the possibility of any dyes or rust from metal legs or pins being transferred to your carpet during cleaning. After a day or two, these are easily removed and disposed of.

Do You Work on Nights or Weekends?

Most of our commercial work is undertaken outside of working hours, so this is a regular working pattern for us. Appreciating that everyone’s needs are different, particularly for those who are working 9 ‘til 5 on weekdays, we offer evening and weekend domestic cleaning on request. If you require an out-of-hours service, please book at least two or
three weeks in advance, as our weekend slots are very popular with our customers. On occasions, we are available to work in the early evenings, up to 8:00 p.m.

Can You Remove All Stains?

Successful stain removal all depends on the type of fibre, the extent of the damage to the carpet, and the size and type of the stain. Wool and nylon carpets are the most difficult types to clean, as they are very absorbent and easily dyed by colourful spillages.

With an extensive range of solutions for pretty much every kind of stain, we are usually able to remove most stains entirely. Unfortunately, some stains are permanent, but we promise that we will work to the very best of our ability to remove all dirt and blemishes where possible. 

Do You Move Furniture and Other Items?

Wherever possible, we prefer that furniture in the cleaning area is removed prior to our arrival. That said, we understand that this is not always possible, and we are able to work around these situations. If smaller items, such as coffee tables, side tables, lamps, and any other small items are removed, then we are able to work more quickly, maximising the effectiveness of your clean.

Please notify us in advance if you are unable to remove furniture so that we are able to allow extra time for this but be aware there may be an additional charge for this. Generally, we will be able to plan all of this during our pre-works survey, keeping you informed of what needs to be done.

In our experience, meeting customers beforehand serves to give them peace of mind and allows our cleaners to get a better idea of the job. Every job has different demands, including location, access issues, and levels of soiling. That’s why we always prefer to meet new customers face-to-face, allowing us to discuss your needs, survey your property, and offer a free, no-obligation quote for any work required. For returning customers, this survey may not be necessary.

How Do You Clean Carpets and Upholstery?

Carpets benefit from regular vacuuming by the homeowner, but more specialised equipment and knowledge are required in order to clean it properly. Using various methods, we aim to remove as much of the accumulated dust and soil as possible. Our choice of cleaning methods is dependent upon a variety of different factors, but mainly on the type of material, its construction, age, and condition, and the degree of soiling.

Most commonly, we use shampooing, hot water extraction, and the use of impregnated compounds which are brushed into the carpet and then removed with a vacuum cleaning. Moreover, we will ensure that carpets are correctly fitted and that any possible problems, such as weak or damaged seams, are addressed.
